Mr. & Mrs. Justin Dunlap Celebrate 1 year of wedded bliss...

The Justin Dunlap's celebrate 1 year of marriage today! Over the weekend we enjoyed a picnic at Young's (as well as lots of wine tasting, we even went to a couple of new wineries in the region...check out TKC if you're ever in that area, their wines were impressive). Our picnic basket included (thanks to my wonderful dad) our vows, a complete centerpiece from the wedding, a favor box, our name card and a bottle of the Karmere red served at the wedding. The whole day was perfect (both in 2007 and in 2008). We even tried to re-create some of our wedding photos.

On our loooong trip back to Portland we reminisced about all the fun things we've done together for the past 5 years! Here is a brief top 5 list of memorable happenings (we've left off the obvious like "first date" and "wedding"):
1. Trips (Australia, New Zealand, Bora Bora, Mexico, driving across the US, California wine trips...)
2. Hiking, Biking and Camping (remember hiking Lassen, Justin?...biking 17-mile drive near Monterey, camping in the Smokey Mountains, Big Sur, etc)
3. Our Honeymoon (who wouldn't like Bora Bora and snorkling off their overwater bungalow everyday...'nuf said!)
4. Creating Traditions (like our Valentine's tradition of cooking for one another every other year...much more romantic than fighting the crowds at the hot spots around town)
5. Running the marathon together (well...sort of running "together"...for me, knowing that Justin had to wait two hours before I rounded the corner to the finish and in that time he patiently waited and made me a sign was the highlight of the race!)
Here's to a creating many more top 5 lists over our lifetime!
