Anderson's Pictures and more Pictures

Here's some pics of the latest on our trip to yellowstone, some time with Jen and Nate when they were gracious enough to let me stay there as Thain was moving our house onto a foundation he's been building, our progress with the house and some nature pictures from around the house and little Rilan. It really is nice to be out on our own and once you look past the buildings or some storage stuff around it really is a great view from many directions. I really like the freedom of not having really close neighbors too though where we were we really had some of the best sweetest neighbors you could ask for and a few nosy ones too but anyhow I like it here and it really is going to be a lot of space and some fun aspects to our house too. I would try and make comments with each picture but Justin and Jeremy have not taught me how to build pretty blogs yet so maybe someday :). Well that's the latest update on the anderson's at Mom's request. Hope everyone is doing great. I miss and love you all. Can't wait to visit Paradise at the end of September and visit more family and friends!

Mom's Sampler

Another totally out of place picture! This one belongs with Aiden's birthday pictures. I wanted to get one of John barbecuing the yummy hamburgers and hot dogs (even spicy ones!) but it didn't turn out. This shows their new pool where many had fun and cooled off swimming and playing volleyball.
Remember this gal at the Chateau at Pineview reservoir?
(I can't get this picture of the girls to move down after the picture of us in the hotel room. HELP!!!!! )
Well look what she got!!
Rilan is so cute (it was very difficult to choose just one photo) and I loved sharing his first days home with Jill and Thain!
Jen picked me up to go with Deven, Emily, and Ben to get Brianna at the SLC airport. It took an hour after she landed to actually get her with us and away from Delta custody!
Emily, Brianna, and I after arrival and happy to find great quarters in our hotel room at Park City. We had a fantastic time experiencing walking high ropes, touring Olympic Village, riding in a hot air balloon, hiking up to Timpanogos caves, speeding down water slides, riding the Heber steam engine train, rafting down the Provo River, etc. I hope to blog some pictures not yet seen by most of you if I can get them. This is where the picture of Brianna and Emily in front of the train should be!!

Dad at Aiden's fun 4th birthday party.

Aiden showing off the treasured book Cris made just for him. He's chewing on some candy he got from the neat car pinata the kids hit open.
Cris, Aiden and Bri with cupcakes at our house on his real birthday.
Justin and Colby finishing dessert as the sun sets.
I decided to get a treadmill for those days I can't make myself go out side (too hot, too cold, too wet, etc.) Dad and Justin finished assembling it and Justin found it suitable for one of his workouts.
After our Saturday morning visit to Home Depot, we loaded up the sand and bricks Jeremy bought for a path going from their soon to be built deck off their bedroom to their new hot tub.
The guys used the pick in the rock hard dirt, and we all used the shovels to move dirt out of the soon to be path.
This is a possible configuration of the bricks for the path. We hope to finish it in a couple of weeks. In the afternoon Jeremy and Kathryn took us wine tasting and out to dinner!

House Boats and Hot Tubs

We were able to go on Lake Shasta for our anniversary, thanks to Mom and Dad's Christmas gift. It was incredibly fun and relaxing. Thank you Mom and Dad!! It was so neat to be there with just Kathryn. I think we will have to make that a yearly tradition! We loved it.

We also received our new hot tub and are posting pictures of that as well. I really like it, but it came without the lighting or wireless audio working. Hopefully that will be fixed later this week.

I miss you all!
Love,
Jeremy

Backpacking trip to Pyramid Peak

Last weekend I went on the first of two backpacking trips I am going to go on this summer with Vance and his good friend Craig. It was a beautiful trip through the wildflowers, pine trees, and granite of the desolation wilderness.

Here is the lake we camped at. Just above the last tall tree on the left is the notch we climbed up to get to the first ridge. The pictures I took didn't do the steepness of the ascent justice. It was like being on a stair stepper all the way up!

This is a picture of one of the granite faces near our camp. The morning light was making some ascetically pleasing shadows before our trip up the mountain so I grabbed a shot. The granite has to be one of the most impressive parts of the desolation wilderness.

Here is another view on the way up the mountain. All of it was steep, but the scenery was actually pretty varied.

This is one of many beautiful flowers that were in bloom in the wilderness. There was very little large wildlife to be found, but the variety of plants and small creatures was impressive.

Almost to the top now. It is amazing that these piles of rocks stay on the top of the peak.

At the peak! My watch said 9996 feet, but officially the mountain is only 9981 feet high I believe. I tried to jump and hold up my arm to get to 10,000 feet.

Here I am posing like I am on top of the world. The views in all directions were amazing!

On the left is Craig, then Vance, then me (hopefully you knew that last one at least :) ).

At the peak was an ammo box full of granola bars people have left as well as a couple of log books for visitors to leave their tales of getting to the top. Many people do the ascent in the winter and ski parts of the way down. That must be a much more intense trip than the one we took!

After the hike up the mountain, we were going to take a nap, but there were a bunch of people near our camp, so we headed out for another hike. It turned out to be almost as intense as the climb up to the top of the mountain! We had seen a couple of beautiful clear (unnamed) lakes "near" our lake when we had climbed the mountain so we went in search of them. The water in these higher altitude lakes was amazingly clear.

Finally it was time to rest! Sleeping completely exposed to the wilderness was nice and waking up to see the stars was worth it. However, next time I might bring a tent to keep the bugs away if for no other reason!
