Kathryn's black (purple) eye

After spending 10 minutes encouraging and finally succeeding in getting a student to get on a bus, Kathryn turned around and walked away. Right into a metal pole. :(

Here are a couple of pictures of the night it happened (below) and then what it looks like today (above).

Nick and his girlfriend Sarah came down and we saw Terminator in the theaters and then went out to the Forbes Mill restaurant here in Danville. It was wonderful food, and we would love to take anyone there that comes and visits. :)

Kathryn's new toy

I know this isn't as exciting as Mom's new car, but Kathryn got a new laptop!!! This has been in the making for a while, and now Jeremy has his and Kathryn has hers! We are officially an Apple family.

Birthday and bear repelling

Kathryn and Jeremy joined us for dinner last night, and we celebrated her birthday with a fresh strawberry pie. Then the guys took all her and my money at poker. Jeremy talked to Justin, and we learned he and Alisa were apartment hunting - do we get to see and hear more about that soon, you Portlanders? Also, did anyone from Utah go camping this last weekend that we might get pictures and an update of? And I think someone may have gone to Reno to play basketball! We're looking forward to lots of sharing!!!!!

Jeremy and Dad installed electric fencing around our backyard hives this evening in an effort to stop the damage being done way too often. Simultaneously they were being annoyed by bees and mosquitoes. Last night the bear repeatedly returned, despite being shot at. We were very relieved that the authorities didn't come knocking on our door.

overdue pics and news

Here's some Pics from our Easter trip to Disneyland and Vegas and Venice Beach and some various other events here like an easter egg hunt I did for the kids after and a picture of the mothers day dinner that Amber and her friends did for me. I don't like too many pics of me recently as I'm huge but here's a few none the less. Saturday Amanda put together a wonderful baby shower for me and Jen did a few fun games and April helped and made a lot of delicious food, it was really a wonderful shower and I had a great time, unfortunatly I didn't take any pics even though I had my camera! Today I painted half of Rilan's room a light yellow it turned out pretty good a little darker then I thought but good and tommorow or by Wed I will hopefully finish the rest so when I have that all up this week I'll try and send some pics. We have a little bassinet for him for the first few months and we have Heath's bed still in the room till we'll put up the beutifull crib John and Cris loaned us so It won't be a tottally baby's room but it's been fun to decorate, Doctor said last visit that everything looked good so that's great and I can really feel him move now wich is fun, I feel heavy and weighed down and have some numbness (carpel tunnel) I guess but other then that I'm feeling and doing pretty good. Thain's been busy working hard finishing up all his jobs but it looks like he's over the hump and only has a few places left to grade and finish up and is looking forward to taking it easy for a little while. Well that's the latest news on us :). We're looking forward to seeing everyone next month! Yeay.

Updates: no pictures :-(

Zowie! My jury duty experience has been completed. It was a civil case, very interesting and educational, and I met some very nice people! The plaintiff was suing Wal-Mart for a slip and fall incident and needed to prove negligence on Wal-Mart's part. We finally decided 50-50 negligence which resulted in W-M not needing to pay. Anyone interested in more details than that just let me know!

We had a fun week-end with Jeremy and Kathryn! Jeremy taught me how to use the verbal commands for my new car, facilitated our getting a hard drive back-up for our computer, and then they gave us all their money in poker!

I just talked to Elderhostel and they will contact the Park City group regarding Brianna, Emily, and I being able to attend their Park City program #9926: Rockies Intergenerational: Balloons, Trains, Rafts, and Sundance. If you'd like to view the itinerary, after going to the Elderhostel site, you can click on the dates (8-2 to 8-8) and then itinerary. It states only one child per adult but Elderhostel will plead our case!

After I get all the stuff done I need to, I plan on stopping procrastination and reading the running sites! I don't know if I will be able to get up to run mode, but I do love to walk fast!

My first irises ever!!!

Spring had sprung, but now it's raining again...I know, poor us. We may actually get to use the boat this summer though. I've tried for years to get these things to grow. Some of them are from Anita's Chico yard before she moved, some are from my grandmother's yard and some are from my friend Karma who wins awards with hers. I'm just happy to actually have flowers. Also are a few pics from our latest trip.

T minus one month!

In honor of it being one month from Justin and I’s third marathon, I thought I’d post some training plans for 5k’s (3.1 miles), ½ marathons (13.1 miles) and marathons (26.2 miles). Food for thought for potential Disneyworld 2011 (hehe). I also promised Cris I would send her a couple of training plans.

5k plans:

One of the most popular beginner plans is called “Couch to 5k” or C25k.

If you go to this site (http://www.c25k.com/) you’ll find links to discussion forums, iPhone apps and podcasts.

The following links have plans for several distances and many have novice/intermediate/advanced options:

Hal Higdon (or Uncle Hal to many of my online runner friends):

Jeff Galloway (His plans are run/walk. His plans are designed to conserve energy and keep you injury free):
