Business at the Blaines

My indoor garden this year.  Nate built this grow light for me, and it's working really well!
Ben and Deven are soccer super stars this spring!  Both boys scored two goals in their games on Saturday.

The wildflowers in California were gorgeous!

Our kayak adventure on Clearlake

We drove over to Fort Bragg and enjoyed a walk on the beach.

If you can't read that sign up there it says "LumberJacks, where the big boys eat."  I thought it was funny!

All ready to hunt for eggs at Grandma's and Granddad's house.

What are you finding Aiden?

Deven counting his eggs.

A fun game of Phase 10 with the kids, Grandma being one of them.

Watching over the flock.

Our six new friends.  Now we have to build the coop!

The kids playing "Just Dance Kids" on the Wii. I played with them, and it was fun. Although it would be just as entertaining to watch the dancers.

I am trying to upload videos of the kids playing their piano songs, but am not having luck.  I'll try one more time, but I might have to email them to you Mom!

Great pictures Jen. I enjoyed looking at them all and wish we had made it down for Easter.

Are you growing your plants on the dining room table? The grow light looks great.

Dad and I both got lots of smiles from your post, Jen! Thanks for sharing! I'm wondering about your plants and drainage - do the cups have holes in the bottom? They sure look healthy and vigorous! Your kids and chicks are so cute!

Thanks!

Yes Justin, that's on our dining room table for the time being. The weather here is prone to freezing into June. I will plant them outdoors after that. I just was going to do peppers and tomatoes inside, but you can see I got carried away. No drainage Mom, maybe that's why one of the pumpkins is turning yellow...

How are your herbs doing Justin? Are they outside? I have parsley, cilantro, basil, chives, dill and thyme inside. The dill is dying though, and the thyme doesn't look so great. I need a bigger pot for them. What all did you plant?

Don't you have ten empty rooms you could spare to growing plants Jen? :)

We have planted outside thyme, mint, cilantro, rosemary, and broad leaf parsley. We also have a pot with basil indoors. They are all doing quite well right now but I'm worried the cilantro and parsley will bolt here before too long since it is growing so fast.

There were about 5 different kinds of thyme at the nursery where we bought our herbs, I was tempted to take home each of them. Wish I had planted some chives myself as I have a recipe that calls for some that I was thinking of making soon!
